If you don’t have MDS, NewsCopier can try to download channels via your WAP Gateway, but you need to know the getaway parameters:
WAPGatewayIP - IP address of the gateway
WapGatewayPort - Gateway port value
WapGatewayAPN - Access Point Node (for GPRS networks only)

If you don’t know these parameters, please let me know who is you carrier/provider and I’ll try find them for you.

If this WAP Gateway approach works for you, we’ll add WAP support in next NewsCopier release.

I am having this issue.  I can use WAP for most things as my company has BES locked down.

I use Verizon as my Carrier

Here are two Verizon Wireless WAP gateways:

WAPGatewayIP: 12.168.70.74
WAPGatewayPort: 9201

WAPGatewayIP: 153.114.115.100
WAPGatewayPort 9203

But, we see some reports from BlackBerry users that these Verizon gateways may not be publicly accessible and you might need to call Verizon Data Services technical support to enable HTTP and web browsing for your account.

I am still receiving the "Failed to download the channel; Error code: -2" error.

I have a BB 8700 on Cingular service.

My default MDS browser configuration is set to "Internet Browser"

What do I need to check or change to get this to work?

Mike

Please contact your carrier to get WAP Gateway parameters.

FYI, we just released version 1.1 that provides support for WAP Gateways. You can now enter Gateway parameters using Options menu, instead of appending them to each channel URL.

I downloaded the upgrade and I am now getting "Failed to download the channel; Error code -10

Am I making progress or do I delete this program and give up?
